To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2006. New members of the list must have an operating history of at least four years. All companies are ranked according to their year-over-year sales growth from 2003 to 2006. Southeast Media, Inc. has experienced 108 percent growth in revenue over the last three years.
